Rock Star

This is what Brayden would look like if he had long hair. This is what happens when we have spent to much time in the house. Maybe someday he will be a rock star, after all he does have a birth mark in the shape of a star on his stomach.

The best dog

Since both of the children have been sick, we really didn't do anything this weekend. So here are some pics of the boys playing with there best friend bobo. Bo really will let them do whatever they want to him. Brayden will take toys from him and he doesn't care. I actually caught Hunter trying to ride him like he was a horse today, the camera was to far away or I would have gotten a picture of it.

Brayden taking his bone from him.

Now he is offering it back to him.

103.2

That was Hunter's temperature last night. Wednesday we received a note in his backpack from preschool that read "there have been a couple cases of strep throat, please watch your children for symptoms." So when he told me last night that it felt like he had swords in his throat I figured that was what we were dealing with. Not wanting this to go into the weekend, I went ahead and called the doctor. I feel as though they now know my voice when I call to make an appointment. They did a strep screen, and that came back negative, so they said he probably just had a virus. So off we went to see Danny and to take him some lunch. After we left his work we got about 30 seconds down hwy 62 when I hear the worst sound you can hear while driving down the highway, Hunter throwing up all over the floor, his clothes, the carseat, the back of my seat (good thing all he had all morning was water). It was horrible, so we turned around to go back to Danny's work to get him cleaned up. I stripped him down to his underwear, wrapped him in one of Danny's sweatshirts, traded car seats, and left for home. Now he is asleep and I am off to lysol my car. AAAAAAHHHHHH the joy of children.

Ramping

If you know Hunter then you know how much he loves to build things and how he is always trying to figure mechanical things out. Well tuesday night he decided that he needed to make a ramp to jump his power wheels off of. Since we don't keep spare lumber at our house (no space) we went to B-maw and P-paws house (thank you so much for the piece of plywood). Danny and Hunter built the ramp tuesday night (just the plywood and some bricks underneath it, he is only4). The battery was dead on the jeep though so we had to charge it. So last night Hunter finally got to do some jumping, he had so much fun. I fear that he will want to be one of'those guys that jump stuff at the monster truck shows. He is definetly our little daredevil, nothing scares him.

Before the ramp, notice the arm thrown in the air.
During takeoff. Hunter added some sand bags in front of the ramp for that added bump.
Going up the ramp.

Going off the ramp.

Brayden looking better, he finally started eating again last night.
(Hunter took this picture, he is actually getting pretty good at taking pictures.)

103.4

That was Brayden's temperature last night. So I didn't get my wish of no more doctor's visits till November. He has 2 ear infections, so now with the antibiotics hopefully we will be better in a few days. Since this is his second ear infection in 6 weeks I feel like he is going to follow in Hunter's footsteps and need tubes. Maybe he will sleep better tonight because last night we were on the couch together, I need some sleep. On a good note though he is up to 4 ounces of formula now.

Allergies or no allergies

Today I took Brayden to the doctor over the long debate about whether or not he is going to have a milk allergy or not. After much discussion, well as much as you can have when there is a 10 month old and a 4 year old in the room, we really are no closer to knowing the answer. The doctor doesn't really know what to do. He doesn't think that an allergy doctor would test him yet, so we are trying a couple of different formulas right now, since he can't have breastmilk forever. Technically I guess he could, but I don't want him to have it forever. So today he got 1 ounce of Enfamil Nutramigen mixed in with 2 of his bottles. This is the first time that he has had some formula without throwing it up 3 hours later.......so I am keeping my fingers crossed although the hpoallergenic formula is about twice as expensive as the regular formula.

In the past 6 weeks I have been to 8 doctor appointments between the kids, I hope to not go to another until Brayden's 1 year check up. It is times like this that I'm glad that we are not having anymore kids.

Zoo

Wednesday I watched my niece Taylor all day, due to the fact that her baysitter was still without power. We were very fortunate to have our power turned back on around 9pm on Sunday night so we were only without power for about 8 hours. Anyways I took the kids to the zoo. The zoo still was without power, so some of the animals were not on exhibit, and there were only 2 places in the zoo that the bathrooms were open, that can get scary with 2 four year olds who can't hold it all that long. We made it through though, I also found a bathroom that they didn't say was open which was in the room where the siamengs are at. As we were nearing the end Hunter started complaining about his foot starting to hurt...........hmmmmmmmmm maybe making him walk the entire zoo was not such a good idea after just getting his cast off. Oh well we had fun.

Brayden also had his first tooth poke through today............I was beginning to think we might have to get him a set of dentures made for him.

Cast off

Tuesday we went to see the orthopedic doctor. We were a work in appointment since I had to cancel the appointment that we had for wednesday, due to the fact that when I made it I forgot that Hunter has preschool M, W, F. So I figured that the day was destined to be disaster since I would have both the children by myself, and waiting very long with Brayden who you cannot contain anymore sometimes gets a little stressful. However we actually got out of the waiting room quickly, then when we got put in a room (the cast room is seperated by a curtain so that 2 people can be in there at once) there was a screaming child looked to be about 18 months or so in there screaming cause daddy could not contain him while mommy was getting her arm x-rayed. I was no longer concerned about Brayden misbehaving. I gave him a sucker (his first one) and he sat there like a good child (very sticky) the whole time. Hunter finally had his cast removed. It seemed like it was on much longer then 3 weeks. The doctor showed me the new bone growing on the xrays, and assured me that it was healed. Wooohooo bath time without a trash bag.

4 year old artwork

AAARGGGHHHH! It had to happen eventually, but did it have to happen so soon. This is what happens when a 4 year old disappears with a pen. Then when you realize he is gone and you find him, this is what you encounter. He said that he was trying to make his room look cool. I guess mommy just didn't add enough coolness to it. I went and bought some Mr. Clean magic erasers today. Hopefully they will work.

10 months old

Brayden turned 10 months old today, and celebrated with an oreo. He loved it, and what a mess it made. Surprisingly it didn't break him out. So if nothing else I guess he can live off of oreos, baby food and breastmilk for the rest of his life.

mmmmmmmmm oreos......mommy's favorite too.
How cute am I?

Weekend

This past weekend was a busy one. Danny was at Lake Cumberland for the poker run, which ended up getting cancelled after a boat flipped and there was a fatality (http://lakecumberland.com/). When Danny called me to tell me, he was pretty upset. They didn't know the guy, but his boat was right beside them last night and they talked to him. While all that was going on, I was at home redoing Hunter's room. Three coats of primer and two coats of paint. Needless to say about half way through I was ready to call someone and have them finish painting it for me. I will post pictures of the finished product later, I must say it is really cute.

Today I went and picked up Hunter from preschool, and took all the papers out of his backpack. When I was looking through them, I learned that a little girl that was in Hunter's class last year has been diagnosed with brain cancer, very sad she is only 4 years old. Everyone say a prayer for her and her family. Here is the website http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/audreymason.

Anyone need a kitten

This kitten has adopted us, and I hate to see it get hit by a car or eaten by a dog. Bo already tries to run out the door everytime we open it to try to eat it or maybe just play with it, so it needs to go. I frontlined it, so it is flea free, so if anyone knows someone that is looking for a kitten this is the one, it is friendly, and very very cute. Female, and I would say probably 6-8 weeks old.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend, we went down to Lake Cumberland and stayed on Danny's parents houseboat. Since the boat was beached, and not at the dock, it was very relaxing. Normally when we are there we are constantly running up and down the dock with Hunter going to the little store they have, so this was nice we only had to go once when we were leaving monday. Hunter also did very well with not being able to go swimming, considering how hot it was. He only wanted to go once, and I think that was just cause he saw Danny swimming. It was a great weekend. Danny will be back down there with his family this weekend for the poker run, hope they win!

Hunter playing on the "toon boat"(that is what he calls it). He looks like he is really driving it.

This is just one of those pictures that you can get out to show his girlfriend later on in life.

Bath time in the sink.

Hunter and Danny getting ready to fish. Danny caught a huge catfish the first night, but don't tell Hunter he was asleep and didn't get to see it. Nothing else was caught the rest of the weekend.
